Frequently Asked Questions

How do I find material for my certification?

Go to /exam-material/ — three CompTIA cert pages (Security+, A+, Network+), each grouped by exam domain or topic. Or use "Find your path" on the homepage: pick your certification and how familiar you already are with it, and it links you straight to a matching study path.

What do the three familiarity levels mean?

"New to this" — everything, in a recommended reading order. "Know the basics" — the core exam material, skipping fundamentals. "Know most of it" — the confusing distinctions and harder topics.

Is the Exam Material free?

Yes. Every note, game, and guide on this site is free to read — no account, no paywall.

How do the games help me study?

Four arcade-style drills built from the Exam Material: Triage (sort real findings), Attack Path (reorder real attack sequences), Odd One Out (spot the term that doesn’t belong), and Spot the Phish (find what gives a fake email away). All four are tied to specific CompTIA Security+ posts and objectives today.

What's the difference between the site and the Clocked-Out app?

This website is free. The Clocked-Out app is a separate paid product, sold on the Apple App Store and Google Play — see our Refund Policy for how purchases there work. The Exam Prep section of this site is currently a placeholder for an eventual web build of that same app.

Is Clocked-Out affiliated with CompTIA?

No. Clocked-Out is an independent study resource and isn't affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by CompTIA — full details on our Trademark & Legal Notices page.

How often is the material updated?

There's no fixed publishing schedule. Notes, corrections, and games get added and revised as they're written — use search to see what's here now.
